New Adaptations to Tenant’s Home
We’re happy to share the heartwarming story of our recent adaptation works at a tenant’s home. Taking place before Christmas, the Broadland team made some adjustments to better accommodate a young individual with autism.
The adaptations included installing fire doors, redesigning the shower, and creating a safe space garden, which have all made a significant difference to the lives of the tenants. The changes have not only provided additional support and comfort for the son but have given the mother more reassurance and peace of mind.
Our dedicated operatives who carried out these adaptations demonstrated remarkable sensitivity and understanding throughout the process. We thank them for their hard work and exceptional efforts!
This story recognises the importance of specific adaptations for our tenants. We understand that not only physical needs addressing, but mental needs are just as important.
Our Aids and Adaptations service can help tenants and members of your household remain independent in your Broadland Home. You can apply for assistance for minor and major works to your home. For major works, an Occupational Therapist will carry out a Needs Assessment and visit and assess the suitability of your home for your needs and recommend any aids or adaptations required. To request a Needs Assessment visit, please contact your Local Authority.
If you or someone you know is in need of adjustments to support mental or physical needs, please get in touch with us on 0303 303 0003 or email adaptations@broadlandgroup.org
