Being Green!
Sustainability forms one of our key commitments under our Corporate Strategy. We are delighted to have been awarded two accreditations recognising our efforts in this area.
The first being a Sustainable Housing Label from Ritterwald and the second is a Gold SHIFT Accreditation (Sustainable Housing Index For Tomorrow).
Both accreditations scrutinise Broadland’s environmental impact and help us make positive steps towards encouraging our staff and residents to live in a more sustainable way.

Working towards ending homelessness
As part of our commitment to Homes for Cathy, we hosted the Eastern Regional seminar in partnership with the Norfolk Strategic Housing Partnership.
The seminar was focused on how we can work in partnership with the Police, health and housing services to provide better solutions for the homeless in Norfolk. The Bishop of Norwich chaired the seminar and Norwich City Council kicked off the day, with Norfolk Police, Crisis, Church of England and YMCA all speaking.

Wave 2 Funding Update
Broadland were awarded £815,913 from Wave 2 of the Government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF Wave 2.1) to improve the energy efficiency of its homes.
Broadland applied for the funding as part of Independent East consortium, bringing in E.ON to help deliver the project. We have 650 homes identified below Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) C and works to 61 homes have commenced to retrofit energy efficiency measures such as loft insulation, new windows, air source heat pumps and solar PV, that will help to reduce fuel bills.
Measures to 17 homes have been completed with an additional 49 to be completed by March 2025.
As part of the process, Broadland has recruited a Sustainability Tenant Liaison Officer. Their role is to inform and guide the tenant through the process. They will also be collating data on cost savings as a result of the works.
